Christmas crafts for babies may seem daunting or too much effort, however, there are some super easy crafts to do with your baby that you can treasure for many Christmas days to come.
Today has been quite busy, we went swimming this morning and I’ve done lots of housework. I wanted to do something Christmas related but that wouldn’t take forever or make the kitchen messy again!
We decided to paint a reindeer wooden stencil we got from Hobbycraft. We laid out a wipeable mat that we use for him to crawl around outside and I got a paintbrush I didn’t mind ruining.
Things you’ll need for Christmas crafts
- Wipeable mat or newspaper
- Paint that won’t stain
- Apron or paint jacket for baby
- clothes you don’t mind getting paint on
- wet wipes
- stencil
Theo used his fingers, and the only part I did was the antlers. He enjoyed the texture of the paint and we talked about the different colours. It’s nice to do something different with him that we both enjoyed, and I love having another ornament to hang on the tree!
Once he had finished painting with his fingers/hand I then got the parts he missed and for the nose and eyes we held the brush together- something he is getting very good at!
Doing simple and quick Christmas crafts is something I hope to turn into a tradition with him for us both to look back on. I want him to eventually remember each year what we do with him and it be something to look forward to.
I’ve been loving Hobbycraft this month they’ve got an exciting range of Christmas crafts available that are pretty cheap compared to other places.
Christmas crafts are something we’ve enjoyed doing so far and I’m looking forward to making more!
