Tonight we decided to go on a walk around where we live to see everyone’s Christmas lights. I love doing little things like this as it really makes you feel festive and is also a good excuse to get out of the house for a bit before bed.
Next, we bundled Theo up in his coat and blanket as it’s pretty cold out and put him in his pram. He’d just had his dinner and we did it just after 6pm so he was full and happy to go out for a bit. I gave him a bit of crust to chew on as he is teething pretty badly at the moment.
We decided to go to a few streets around our house and just did a big loop back to our house. I’m delighted we have been able to keep this tradition as last year we couldn’t do it as I was heavily pregnant and sore in December.
My partner and I had lots of fun seeing all the trees and different decorations along the streets. It was nice seeing the different handmade ornaments along with the shop-bought bought.
Now if you are looking for ways to feel festive this is in my top 5, you don’t even have to go on a walk around where you live you can choose a village to drive through if you don’t have many houses around you.
Lastly seeing all the Christmas lights made me feel really excited about Christmas. Theo enjoyed seeing them too and he would try to lean out of the pram to see the lights. When it was something he was particularly excited by he’d be smiling and waving his arms around.
My Favorite Christmas Lights
One of my favourites is this Reindeer and the pink penguin light. I love seeing everyone’s Christmas decorations as you can get one house with classy looking no colour lights which are like a warm white/cream colour and then next to it can be a house with a blow-up Santa and a projector of coloured lights.
Going out to see Christmas lights can also be a good way to support charities as many have the option to donate and say who they have decorated for. It is worth seeing around your area if any of the houses near you are doing so.
